Vice President JD Vance made a personal revelation in response to the controversial Vanity Fair articles on White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.

In the articles, Wiles dished on the various characters who’ve played a role in the second Trump administration, including Attorney General Pam Bondi, Elon Musk and the vice president.

Wiles described Vance as someone who has “been a conspiracy theorist for a decade,” and claimed his conversion over to Trump ― who he once famously called “America’s Hitler” ― was politically motivated and “came when he was running for the Senate.”

Vance publicly addressed Wiles’ comments on Wednesday during an event in Pennsylvania focused on the economy.

Although he said he hadn’t read the article on Wiles, he did concede one of her points, albeit with a pretty dubious caveat.

“I haven’t looked at the article. I, of course, have heard about it. But, conspiracy theorist — sometimes I am a conspiracy theorist, but I only believe in the conspiracy theories that are true,” he said. “And, by the way, Susie and I have joked in private and in public about that for a long time.”

Vance then listed some of the conspiracy theories he did believe ― such as former President Joe Biden was “trying to throw his political opponents in jail” rather than win an argument against them, before suggesting that a conspiracy theory is “just something that was true six months before the media admitted it.”

Of course, a conspiracy theorist saying they only believe the true ones is the No. 1 conspiracy theorist cliche.

But the record shows Vance has spread a number of conspiracy theories ― and gets really testy when he’s called out on falsehoods.

Buzz: JD Vance Reacts To Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce’s Engagement By Pushing Conspiracy Theory

In August, he leaned into a conspiracy theory that the NFL is favoring the Kansas City Chiefs “just because Travis Kelce is now getting married to” Taylor Swift.

He has also insisted that Donald Trump won the 2020 election, despite vast evidence to the contrary (and the fact that he probably wouldn’t be vice president if that was true).

During the 2024 election, Vance spread unfounded rumors of Haitian immigrants stealing pets and eating them in Springfield, Ohio, and got mad when reporters attempted to verify his unproven claims.
