WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Regal Cinemas is planning to renovate the Warren West Theatre.
The national theater chain applied for a permit to renovate the nearly 32-year-old building. The permit was issued Tuesday by the Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department.
In its permit, Regal said it’s planning $5 million in renovations.

Other changes may or may not be popular with fans of the theater. They include removing and replacing the existing finishes in the auditoriums, hallways, and lobby; demolishing the restaurant; and tearing down the lobby concession stand to build a new concession stand, bar, and kitchen/prep room.
This would be the first major change to the theater since Regal purchased Warren Theaters from businessman Bill Warren in 2017.
Constructed in 1996 as a 10-screen theater after the success of Warren’s discount, second-run Palace Theaters, the Warren West has expanded multiple times over the past three decades, eventually adding an IMAX screen.
