Singapore plans to switch to its new ERP 2 system for toll charges from 1 January 2027 which means all Singapore-registered motor vehicles will be required to have the On-Board Unit (OBU) installed ahead of the transition. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) revealed that more than 93 per cent of vehicles in Singapore (about 930,000 vehicles) have completed the OBU set-up.

Local media claim former actor Edmund Chen will appeal against his five-day jail sentence for careless driving. The 63-year-old filed a notice of appeal on Monday (2 Feb), based on court records. Chen was involved in an accident in March last year which left a 21-year-old motorcyclist with fractures to his wrist and hand.
