The Ohio River isn't frozen enough to safely walk out on, but that didn't stop one curious critter.
Bellevue police said one of their sergeants spotted a coyote napping out on the ice Sunday morning, Feb. 8. Police warned boaters and ice fishers along the river to keep an eye on any small pets.
Freezing temperatures from arctic air have rested across Cincinnati in recent weeks, with occasional sub-zero lows overnight.

The temps have not been cold enough for long enough to truly freeze the river like some locals might remember from 1977. Meteorologists have told The Enquirer it would take weeks of consistent freezing temps for the river to freeze over.
However, the big melt is on the way, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Over the next few weeks, the weather service says above average temperatures are expected for the region. An average temperature for Cincinnati in mid-February is around 41 degrees.
